How to Use an Alert

Alerts are primarily used to notify plant managers or other personnel of warnings or dangers picked up by paramaters set on Sersors on a particular Asset. They can also be used to notify other team members of issues or actions needing to be taken on a Asset.

Examples:
Sensor Alert: Temperature has reached 150° when safe operating temperature has been determined at 125°. An Alert will be sent to users that have been assigned to the Asset.
User Alert: A piece of piping has come loose and needs to be addressed. An Alert will be sent to users that have been assigned to the Asset.

Note: Alerts have 2 degrees of importance: Warning and Danger.

Asset Alerts

Alerts can be accessed in several places in the app.

First/Home Screen: The “Latest Alerts” section on this screen displays all Alerts of the User Groups the User is apart of within your Organization.

Alerts Page: The “Open Org Alerts” section on this screen displays all Alerts of the User Groups the User is apart of within your Organization.

Asset > Alerts: These Alerts are specific to the Asset itself.

Alert Details:

  • Icon: Yellow Triangle + ! () is a Warning icon. Red Circle + ! () is a Danger icon.
  • Title: Quick Summary of Alert Issue
  • Sensor Name: Name of the sensor that triggered the Alert
  • Sensor Location: Where the triggering Sensor can be found.
  • Date: Timestamp of when the Sensor triggered the Alert
  • Assigned Group: User Group assigned to the Asset
  • Assigned From: Either the Organization or an individual User
  • Message: Details about the Alert or issue

Alert Management

A User with any authority levels are able to add an Alert to an Asset.

To add a new Alert manually go to – Menu > Assets > Choose Asset > Alerts in the green buttons. Click the add Alert icon (+) in the top right corner. Complete the details of the form. You will be taken to a confirmation page once the Alert’s information is complete.

Edit an Alert

To edit an Alert, navigate to Menu > Alerts > Select Alert

Click the edit () icon on the Alert and complete the form on the next page.

Delete an Alert

To edit an Alert, navigate to Menu > Alerts > Select Alert

Click the edit () icon on the Alert and click Delete on the confirmation screen.

Complete an Alert

To complete an Alert, navigate to the Alert directly and click the square icon in the green circle or on the Asset > Alerts screen and click the gray checkbox. The alert is then sent to the Archive with a completed timestamp and the User that completed the Alert.

Archived Alerts

To access the organization’s Alert archive, navigate to Menu > Alerts and click the archive icon in the top right corner ().

This screen will present the history of completed Alerts for an Organization.

Add An Asset to User Group

Once a User Group has been created in a Company, an individual Asset can be assigned to one or many User Groups.

  • Navigate to the User Group page – Account > Groups > Select a Group
  • Scroll to Group Assets on page
  • Click Add +
  • Scroll to the Asset and click the () icon
  • Note: You may add as many Assets as you want on this screen
  • Click the back arrow to navigate back to the User Group screen

Delete An Asset From User Group

  • Navigate to the User Group page – Account > Groups > Select a Group
  • Scroll to Group Group on page
  • Click Remove
  • Scroll to the Asset and click the () icon
  • Note: You may remove as many Assets as you want on this screen
  • Click the back arrow to navigate back to the User Group screen
